【体験談】グリーンカードの更新

グリーンカードの更新について私の体験を参考になるかもと書いてみます。
10年めの更新、2回めです。

1月ごろ　6ヶ月以内に期限切れになるので、ネットから更新

2月頃　何やら今持っているカードで期限が切れても、その時点から1年は問題ないですよ、、という証明書が来ました。（この時点で、新しいカードがかなり遅れるので、こういう照明書が来たのだなと思いました）。

2月頃　その通知が何やら間違った紙に印刷されたとかいう通知がきて、それから公式の紙にプリントされた通知が来ました。

3月後半　私のペーパーワークが処理されています、、という、ちゃんとした紙に印刷された通知が来て、それには、以前に採取した指紋とか使いますので別に何もする必要がないとありました、、、ここで、まだまだ新しいカードが届くのには時間がかかるなと思いました、、、、ところが、、、

同時に郵便箱にPRIORITY MAILと書いてある怪しげな封筒（もう少しで捨てるところでした）に10年後が期限になっているグリーンカードが入っていました。

結果よければ万事よし、、ということで、色々郵便物が来すぎて意味分からん状態ですが、とにかく、ネットで更新願いを出して2ヶ月ほどで、10年の期限の新しいグリーンカードが届きました。

こちらでも申請中の方で長らく待たされている方がたくさんいるように思いますが、その方たちにも早く手元にグリーカードが届くと良いですね！！
ちなみに私は1月末に2年から10年の更新を申請中です。

　

私のグリーンカードは22年に切れるのですが、ネット更新でオッケーとは知りませんでした！
面接的なものはゼロでしょうか？？
DMVでもドギマギしてしまい、いつも怪しい人になってしまうので、ある程度面接の練習も必要かと考えておりました。
ネット更新のみだと、非常に助かります。

　

今pandemic で色々免除になっています。
写真も10年前の写真再利用です。先はわかりません！

　

アメリカあるあるですねー。
横の繋がりも、立ての繋がりも全くないアメリカの職場の仕組みというか、個々が自分の仕事していればよし！なんで、順序がごちゃごちゃになろうとも関係ないのでしょう。
取り敢えず、無事に届いて良かったですね！
これでまた10年、ホッと一息してください。

実は僕も時期も全く同じ経験（初めての更新でしたが）をしました。
1月初旬に更新手続きをして、その後のもろもろの手紙が到着し、今週の初めに、指紋や写真は前回のを使いますという手紙と同時に着いた切手の広告かと思うような封筒に更新されたカードが入ってました。
嬉しさよりも、拍子抜けしてしまいましたが。

　

私も１月に２度目のGC更新手続きし、先週指紋採取なしと通知が来たので4ヶ月位かかるかなと思っていました！ そしたら、私ももうすぐ来そうですね！

　

もしかしたら、場所によって早さに違いがあるかもですね。私はCAだからもう少し時間かかるかもしれないですね。

グリーンカードの更新はそんなに早いんですね。
再入国許可は通常3ー６週間だったのに、今は8ー11ヶ月。
優先の理由で出国予定なのに4ヶ月過ぎても指紋採取のfeeだけはさっさと取っておいて、あまりにも違いがありすぎですね〜。

　

私の場合は、申請をネットでして、指紋採取と写真撮影をオフィスで終え、新しいカードを受け取るまで、1ヶ月程で終えました。

　

私のカードはプライオリティの封筒に入って送られてきましたよ。
もしかしたら地区に依って違うのでしょうかね。

　

パンデミックの影響もあって、今はネットで更新できるんやね。
在宅ワークとかZOOMとか、この１年でネットを使ったシステムが大きく変わったにゃ。

I have had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out. I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or tips? Appreciate it!

I’ve been using Movable-type on numerous websites for about a year and am worried about switching to another platform. I have heard fantastic things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it? Any kind of help would be really appreciated!
