米軍が謝罪、訓練中に誤ってオリーブ工場を急襲

（ＣＮＮ） ブルガリアで訓練を行っていた米陸軍の部隊が先月、間違ってオリーブオイル加工用機械の製造工場を急襲し、米軍が謝罪する羽目になった。

第１７３空挺旅団はブルガリアでこの数日前から飛行場跡地を制圧する訓練を行っていた。この中には空港内の倉庫を捜索する訓練も含まれていた。５月１１日の訓練では「訓練区域の一部だと信じて」飛行場に隣接する建物を捜索した。しかしこれは、民間の事業者が操業のために使っていた建物だった。

米軍は声明の中で、「この事業所と従業員に心から謝罪する」と述べ、今回の過ちの原因を徹底調査して再発防止に努めるとした。

ＣＮＮ提携局のノバＴＶが入手した工場の防犯カメラの映像には、制服姿の兵士たちが銃を構えて工場の中と外を歩き回る様子が映っていた。
