とっさに犬たちのところへ駆け寄ったモーリニコさん。「私は相当な力でクマを押した。でもそれで十分だった。クマはバランスを崩して塀の反対側に落ちた」

この騒ぎで左手の人差し指をけがしていたが、後になるまで痛みは感じなかったという。震えが来たのはクマがいなくなってからだった。
