歌手ポール・サイモン、全楽曲の権利をソニーに売却

シンガーソングライターのポール・サイモン（７９）が、これまでに発表した全作品の著作権をソニー・ミュージックパブリッシングに売却した。同社が３１日、明らかにした。

売却額は明らかにされていない。作品には「明日に架ける橋」や「時の流れに」といった往年のヒット曲も含まれる。

サイモンは「ソニー・ミュージックパブリッシングが過去数十年にわたる私の作品の管理会社になったことをうれしく思う」というコメントを発表した。

サイモンは、１９６０年代にアート・ガーファンクルと結成したデュオで「ミセス・ロビンソン」や「サウンド・オブ・サイレンス」などのヒットを放ち、これまでにグラミー賞を１６回受賞。２０１８年にツアー引退を発表した。

近年では、ボブ・ディランやスティービー・ニックス、ニール・ヤングなどが楽曲の権利を売却している。
