Ｓｉｒｉの音声、「女性がデフォルト」を取りやめへ　米アップル

米アップルが音声アシスタント機能の「Ｓｉｒｉ（シリ）」について、女性の声をデフォルトとすることを取りやめることがわかった。

アップルは３月３１日、アシスタント機能は利用者に対し、設定する際にさまざまな声の中から選択するよう求めると明らかにした。利用者は現在、声を男性のものと女性のものから選べるほか、アクセントも米国や英国、インドなど６種類から選択できる。しかし、米国では女性の声がデフォルトとなっている。英国など一部の国では男性の声がデフォルトとなっている。

アップルはまた２つの新しい声を追加すると明らかにした。

アップルは声明で、英語話者のために２つの新しい音声を導入して興奮していると述べた。今回の音声追加について、アップルが長期にわたって進めている多様性と包括性に対する取り組みや、生きている世界の多様性をよりよく反映するよう設計された製品とサービスへの取り組みの延長上にあるものと指摘した。

今回の変更はすでに、ｉＯＳ１４．５ベータ版で利用できる。

男女の違いを無くすというのと、男性の良さ、女性の良さを無視するのとは違うと思う。
最近、どうもそれらを混同してる風潮があるように感じる。
男性と女性は本来、異なる性であり、どちらも長所短所がある。

　

どちらでもいいが女性の方が声が高く聞き取りやすい

　

そもそも機械音声の音の高低で女声、男声と決めつけるのは違う意味で差別的では？
声の低い女の人もいるし、声の高い男の人もいるのにそういった人たちは無視か？
後から高低変更できるようにして「デフォルトは多数の人間が聞き取りやすい周波数にしてます」で解決じゃん。

　

記事をちゃんと読まずヒステリックになっている人が多いけど、今までより更に選択の幅が広がる、選択肢が増えるというだけ。

　

男性でも女性でもどちらでもいい。
選べるのは良いと思うけれど、それは選択肢が広がって好みに合わせられるから良いね！という話であって、男女平等どうこうを絡める問題ではないような…

　

声のピッチや話す速度をスライダーで自由に変えるとかできないのかな
デフォルトが中性的な声ならこんな議論にもならないし。

　

もういっその事、スポーツも仕事も風呂もトイレも水着も更衣室も共通共用でお願いします。

　

これ、違う過去を考えてみて欲しいんだけど、
siriの声が最初に男性だった場合、女性に役割を与えない女性軽視だと言う未来になっていただろうね。
要するにさ、女性軽視って言ってる連中が最も女性を下に見てるって事だよ。
レディースデーとかには怒らない辺りに全くプライドも感じられない。

　

もっともっと選択肢が増えて、お母さんみたいな声とか、おばあちゃんみたいな声とか、漫才師みたいな喋り方とか、いろんなSiriが居たらいいと思う。

　

このことを当のｓｈｉｒｉに聞いてみたところ、「私にはどう答えていいのか分かりません、他にお手伝いできることはありませんか。」とはぐらかされてしまった。

　

もともと Siri って初期設定の時に男性か女性か選べたと思うけど、デフォが女性になってるのがオカシイ！ってこと？
選べるんだからデフォがどっちでも良いとも思うんですが。。。

個人的には追加料金払っても良いからイケメンボイスをお願いします！
