米、19日までに全成人をワクチン接種対象に 2週間前倒し

バイデン米大統領は６日、今月１９日から国内の１８歳以上の全成人が新型コロナウイルスワクチンの接種を受けられるようになると発表した。
ワクチン接種計画が順調に進む中、従来目標の５月１日から約２週間前倒しした。

米国ではこれまでに１億５０００万回分の新型ワクチン接種が行われたとし、
１月の就任から１００日後の４月末までに２億回の接種を目指すという目標を達成する軌道に乗っていると言明した。

バイデン氏は当初、ワクチン接種目標は１億回としていたが、達成したことを受け、倍の２億回に引き上げていた。

また、３月末までに教師や学校関係者の８０％超が少なくとも１回目のワクチン接種を済ませたと明らかにした。

同時に新型コロナ変異株が急速に広がっていることで、感染者数は増加傾向にあるとし、
「ゴール地点にたどり着いたわけではない。まだ取り組まなければならないことが多く残されている。
われわれはなお、生死に関わる戦いを強いられている」と述べた。

ワクチン摂取が拡大する中でも、若者の間で感染が拡大してるとか、感染力が強い変異株が主流になりつつあるとかも聞くし、実際これで収まるんかな？

ワクチンって、コロナに感染しても悪化しにくくなるってことやろ？
