ブレイクスルー感染はこれまでのところ、きわめて稀だ。CDCの調査は2021年1月1日から4月30日までの期間に行われ、この間にワクチン接種を完了した米国人は約1億100万人。このうち46の州と米領土で報告されたブレイクスルー感染は計1万262件だった。
