ＮＹ州、嗜好用大麻を合法化　全米で15州目

ニューヨーク州のクオモ知事は３１日、州議会で可決された、成人による嗜好用マリフアナ（大麻）の使用を合法化する法案に署名した。嗜好用大麻が合法化されたのは同州が１５番目。

クオモ氏はツイッターへの投稿で、大麻絡みで過去に有罪になった人たちの犯罪歴が、自動的に抹消されると説明。「歴史的な１日となった」とした。

一方、バージニア州のノーサム知事はこの日、少量の大麻所持の合法化を今年７月に前倒しすることを提案。従来は２０２４年とされていた。

大麻絡みの犯罪の立件で、人種格差があることを理由に挙げた。州議会共同監査審査委員会（ＪＬＡＲＣ）の報告で、少量の大麻所持で黒人が逮捕される確率が、他より３倍以上高いことが分かっていると説明した。

ニューヨーク州のジェームズ司法長官は、声明で「大麻の合法化は人種問題と刑事司法において必須だ」と強調。より公平・公正な制度への重要な第一歩だとした。
